The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 26, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Saladworks in North Wales was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility lacking a current MCOPH CFSM. Facility has 10 business days to submit reciprocity application or submit proof of registration in an approved food safety course.

  • Cutting surfaces on wall mounted and table mounted dicing slicers as well as deli style slicer machine in back prep area unclean.

  • Facility dish machine observed producing sanitizer above an approved range – greater than 200ppm. Facility has voluntarily taken unit out of service – facility is not permitted to place unit back into service without written permission from MCOPH. Failure to comply may result in future immediate legal actions.. Fax repair/work order to MCOPH including new and approved sanitizer concentration produced by unit – fax at 215 784 5524.

  • Employee personal use items (speaker / jacket) stored on prep table and slicer in back prep area.

  • Deep groves and discoloration on cutting boards throughout facility.

  • Facility lacking sanitizer test strips for qat sanitizer.

  • Mold-like growth / accumulation observed on fan guards of walk in cooler.

  • (2 times repeat) shelving in walk-in refrigerator observed unclean at time of inspection. Facility instructed that multiple repeat violations may lead to future immediate legal actions.

  • Mold-like growth observed around exterior of ice dispenser chute in customer area.

  • Leak observed at faucet of prep sink.

  • (2 times repeat violation) wall panels above walk-in refrigerator observed damaged and not in place at time of inspection.
