The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 4/27/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Sunoco in Belle Vernon was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Commercially processed refrigerated, ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety foods(deli burritos) located in the True self-service cooler and held more than 24 hours are not being marked with the date they were opened. REPEAT VIOLATION (5/16/19)
- The hand wash sink located in the storage area does not have water at a temperature of at least 100°F. Water at 64F.
- Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodent activity in cabinets under coffee area. Clean area and monitor for activity and treat as needed. 5TH REPEAT VIOLATION (5/16/19, 8/21/19, 2/14/20, 2/21/20, 2/27/20)
- The water temperature of the wash compartment of the manual ware washing equipment was 64°F, rather than not less than 110°F, as required.
- Tubes to dispense creamers are longer than 1 inch from the head and not cut at an angle.
