The Ways Restaurant & Brewery

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/31/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations The Ways Restaurant & Brewery was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • License posted in facility is expired. Facility must locate current license or request a duplicate copy from Norristown OPH.

  • Sanitizer bucket stored in cook’s line hand wash sink basin.

  • No paper towels provided at bar hand wash sink.

  • Milk with sell by date of 7/24/20 found in 2 door under counter refrigerator and walk-in refrigerator. Facility voluntarily discarded.

  • Wall mounted dicer observed with dried potato debris.

  • Sanitizer bucket recorded with no quat sanitizer concentration. Facility re-mixed a 200ppm solution during inspection.

  • Rodent like droppings observed on floor under soda syrup boxes by mop sink. Facility must immediately clean and sanitize area. Small live rodent-like animal observed outside back area of facility by walk-in units. Facility must be treated by professional pest control service. Send service report to MCOPH with in 10 business days to the email provided. Pest control report must state treatment of target pest.

  • Food items stored on floor of walk-in refrigerator.

  • Facility lacking a max/min thermometer or high heat strips to verify final rinse cycle temperature of dish machine.

  • Employee restroom lacking a covered trash receptacle.
