The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/1/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Tommy D’s Steaks and Hoagies was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Single use paper towels lacking at kitchen hand sink.

  • Can opener blade unclean.

  • Rodent like droppings observed on floors in back prep/storage area. Clean and sanitize all affected areas. Have licensed pest control within the next 10 business days. 

  • Large gap at bottom of rear door entry and doorway leading to basement. Possible entry point for vectors. Seal area.

  • Food handler lacking hair/beard restraint

  • Single use cups used as scoops in prep refrigerator ready to eat foods.
