Vincenzo’s Pizza Bensalem inspection finds mold-like substance in ice machine “discontinue use until fully cleaned and sanitized”

The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/6/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Vincenzo’s Pizza was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Ice machine in need of cleaning due to presence of mold-like substance. Manager removed all ice. Call service company immediately and discontinue use until fully cleaned and sanitized.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/06/2020

Several food items in prep unit near grill were found to be over 41°F. Items that had been placed there within past four hours were moved to walk-in. Unit holds proper temperature. Do not place items in prep unit that have temperature higher than 41°F. (see note below)

Be sure to utilize thermometers regularly to ensure food is maintaining proper temperature  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

Several bins of food were not covered in the walk-in. Also, some food was stored on floor of walk-in. Securely cover all food and place at least 6 inches off the ground.  Repeat Violation.

 

*The temperature danger zone is food temperatures between 41 and 135 degrees Fahrenheit and the most rapid bacteria growth occurs between 70 and 125 degrees Fahrenheit. The longer food sits in this temperature range, the greater the risk that bacteria will begin to grow on food. These violations are considered, "Food Borne Illness Risk Factor" violations.
