Westtown Burger King fails 3rd inspection since September, “thorough cleaning of the facility is still needed”

The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 26, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Burger King in Westtown was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The restaurant failed inspections on September 24, 2019, with 6 violations and November 1, 2019, with 4 violations. 

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Thoroughly clean the floor throughout the kitchen area especially under the equipment and perimeter of the floor.
  • At the under counter freezer by the microwave, the gasket is still in disrepair.
  • Food employees observed in food prep and service area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers.
  • Thorough cleaning of the facility is still needed. While an improvement in the cleaning observed, heavy accumulations of food debris and/or dirt accumulations observed. These include but not limited to: a. Counters in the drive through area b. Shelving in the walk-in refrigerator where the milks are stored c. Fan guards of the walk-in refrigerator d. Dry storage shelving e. Guides/rails at the hot holding units
